Green Tea Jacsul
Many overseas consumers inquire about the difference between green tea and jaksul tea. Jaksul means the tongue (舌) of a sparrow (雀). When we take into account the fact that small tea leaves are regarded as quality goods in general, we can have a look at the pride of Koreans making good tea. Jaksul tea, the green tea made of tea leaves sinuous like the shape of the tongue of a sparrow, a little bird commonly seen in Korea is also used to mean the tea of Korea.
Jaksul is understood as one of the words used to represent the green tea of Korea in general, though it is also used in a specific situation for classification by regional origin, classification by sensory division, brand and grade classification by the harvest period.
